"The brain is what controls everything that we do in our bodies. And it does so, by sending signals down the spinal chord. Then out through pairs of spinal nerves. It's this is where the communication process happens between the brain and the body. When there's interference in that communication process, the brain can't tell the muscles what to do, appropriately. So we lose some coordination, we lose some of our quickness. We lose some of our endurance, we lose some of our power. So when we're talking about our athletic performance. It's imperative to have the spine be free of restrictions. And allow the brain to communicate with the body, like it's supposed to. Now some of the most common injuries that we see in our practice and in the sports world, obviously have to do with the shoulder. We're looking at quarter back throwing a football. We're looking at baseball pitchers or baseball players, for that matter throwing a baseball. Looking at golfers making a big shoulder turn. Shoulder's very susceptible to injury. The shoulder only actually connects to the body through muscular attachments. Not through ligaments. There's no bony attachments. So the shoulder's a very dynamic joint, in that it can move in several different directions. Even at the same time. In working with the shoulder, we work with the joints. In addition to working with the muscles. In working with both those aspects, we're able to increase range of motion. Protecting the shoulder by having a more complete range of motion. Through a pitching motion or throwing motion for a football. Or even that golf motion or tennis, for that matter. Shoulder's a very dynamic thing and it's very important in several sports."
