"In this clip we're going to talk about how to select a campsite when you're overnight snowshoeing. One of the things you want to consider might be wind shelter if you're expecting blizzards or high winds. You want an area that's at least relatively flat so that you can work the snow in that area and make it flat for setting your tent and certainly has to be big enough for that. It's a great idea if you can select an area that's near some bare rocks. If you've got some protruding rocks, it gives you a place to put your equipment, that's dry, as a retreat from the cold snow. And you also want to consider the view. I mean after all, that's what you're out here for. Another thing you want to consider is the angle of the sun. Where it's setting, where is it going to rise? If you position your camp so that you're going to maximize him on a sun that you have both in the evening and in the morning, that'll greatly improve your comfort during the day."
