"Hi, this is Sean Hobson, and what we're talking about right now, is in order to become the best defensive player that you can, you've got to become fundamentally sound in the area of defense. And, what we're talking about here are some different ways to play defense. We've talked about how to play defense straight up on a man, we've talked about how to deny the pass, but one of the things that is pivotal in team defense is help side. And, what we're going to show you right now is how to play help defense. Now, obviously if this man has the ball, this defender is going to be straight up on him. Once the ball goes to me, he is now one pass away, he's going to go deny the pass. But, if the ball is moved all the way over to this side of the court, what this guy now has to do is, he has to be in help side. So, if the ball is out here, he is in help side. Now, help side doesn't just mean that he just can stand here, and he's in help. What it means is he has to still stay in his stance, and what we call it is, we call it "guns," your guns need to be pointing at the man that you're guarding, and the ball, you have to be able to see both of those, with your hands. If you can't see both of those, what you need to do, is you need to drop, so that your peripheral vision includes this man, and the ball. As the ball moves farther on the other side of the court, we want our help side to drop down, and closer to the ball, so that way he's helping with the ball, and his man. And, that's the proper way that you play in help side defense."
