Summary: Remember to stir the paint for the mural with a paint stick before pouring it. Pour paint for a child's bedroom mural with tips from a professional artist in this free home decor video.
"So let's start pouring some of the paint; before we decide like which paint to start pouring or not pouring revisit your picture. Murals; think of them as layers, you want to paint whatever is most distant from you first which in this case there are two colors on here that are the most distance; the sky and the grass, the Savanna grass so these are the two colors that we're going to look to paint in first because everything else is kind of in front of those colors; think of it that way. So we're going to start pouring our paint; get your handy dandy screw driver, not only good at removing face plates but also good for opening up paint cans; dig it underneath here, go all the way around until the seal is broken; this one's going to take some working depending on how good of a seal you actually have on your paint can but eventually you'll start to see it'll pull away, there we go. But don't pour the paint just yet; first we have to take our painting stick, paint's a bunch of all sorts of stuff all mixed together so we want to make sure that things have not separated in here in the meantime. Also I do recommend; they do sell special paints for children rooms which are a basically low emissions, low fumes; those are more environmentally sensitive and what's more, more environmentally sensitive to your child. You don't necessarily want to be painting a mural on day one and day two the child moves in with all those paint fumes in there; you don't like being in a room like that, neither will your child. So after you've mixed; let's pour a good amount, I like basically to fill in the entire bottom of this paint tray and then coming up onto the grooves a little bit; this means we'll have a lot of paint for plenty of time, there we go; that's nice and filled in. Now before we put our lid back on; grab your brush, let's not; let's not waste any paint here, what's more if this paint hardens in here it'll make getting the lid off even harder next time. With that put the paint lid back on so it doesn't dry out; you may need more of this later, use the butt of your flathead; now we have our paint."
