"Hey, let's talk about, kind of, before you go on that bike tour, let's talk about getting inspired, and developing fitness. Before I started bike touring, I would be driving, you know, out on the road, out on the highway, going down to, you know, my favorite mountain biking spot, or whatever, and occasionally I'd see these, these crazy people, on the side of the road, just loaded to the gills with big bags, and they just looked, generally to be suffering. But, I just thought that it looked like such a neat, thing to do, and, and. So I was inspired just by seeing people out, you know, riding their bikes, instead of driving. And, and loaded down and kind of making their way across the landscape that way. I would recommend always, getting your butt used to being in the saddle, for at least a couple of hours, before you go out on that, that tour. Because if you're going to do like a five day tour, you know, it's going to be pretty miserable by the second or third day in terms of saddle soreness, if you're not used to that. So, that's number one, is to get those sit bones, used to being in the saddle. And aside from that, you know, just developing a nice baseline of fitness, through doing a couple of one hour rides a week, something to that extent, should you know, give you enough fitness, that, that, that you can go out and do a nice bike tour. My brother is, you know, twenty-four years old, he's much younger than I am, and he went out with me this, this summer on a, a forty-six day tour. And he just rode himself into shape, he really had no problems. But, you know, those of us who are going to be a little bit older, we need to get some fitness going before we can go out and do that bike tour."
