"Mike Douglas was in town and they came to a place called Sneaky Pete's with Bob Carmen, who was his producer. He heard me sitting there talking to a lady and she was having a bar mitzvah for her son and she had wanted to name her son after her father but he was killed during the horrible war in a concentration camp. She says " he's dead". I said "no he's not, no he's not. He's in England, right now". And, they found him , they brought him over for the bar mitzvah but Bob Carmen said "I want you on the air, I want you on the t.v." Well, the first job was with WKAT here in Florida and I kept giving readings one right after the other and lo and behold, we broke stations. We broke wires and she asked me back again. Then, my big break came in South Carolina when Larry Lansid who had Rainbow Productions and Big Bird. He called me and said "please come through to South Carolina on your way to see your children at camp". And, I did, I did a little news thing and you know the girl that's married to the weatherman from ABC. Oh, she's very good too, she's an announcer as well. She was there and after I did my first show with them, I came back to Miami. I went back the second year. There was a show called the Micky Dahne show that I didn't even know, 90 minutes long. Then, I thought to myself, you know, here I was a dyslexic. I couldn't do what other people did in school, I was left back in kindergarten and the fourth grade. My husband died and how am I going to get along with banks and stuff. You know you feel like an idiot, and I am from Posatan, New Jersey which you don't learn anything in and I had to go to the bank. I walked over to the first vice-president and I said to him "oh, how are your six or seven children, I don't remember?" And, he said " there's only six Micky and one that passed away". Then, I walked over to the second vice-president. I finally started to use what I was not allowed to use or say and I walked over to the second one and I said "why did you give your children away in Connecticut" and she freaked. By the time I got back to my house, they were all there and that's how it all started."
