Video Transcript

"In this tape we're going to talk about how to become a swat team member. A swat team member is a person who is in excellent shape. You'd be surprised at how many people actually put in for the position and when it comes to actually going and performing the qualifications only half, or less than half, would actually make that particular unit. It's a unit that is physically challenged every time that you put on the uniform. And it's a position that is very dangerous because normally what happens is you go into situations, normally the police department is already there if they've held perimeters. So you can come in and you search and you hunt and you apprehend the bad guy. One of the things that you must do is you must be in great physical shape. You must be able to run, jump, hurdles, calisthenics, sit ups, you must be able to work long hours. You have to be very good at shooting because that's a huge qualifications must, that you must have. And you must also be able to know how to communicate. Not just verbally but sign communications because when you go into swat situations it's always done by hand signals most of the time and not by voice."
