"Some of you may, out of a dream of being a police officer when you were young, so it was something that was in my mind as I was growing up, that I wanted to be a police officer. And as I grew older I looked police officer and thought that might be fun. And then I kind of grew out of that and didn't know really what I wanted to do. And I was in different careers as a welder, as a warehouse manager, as doing landscaping. Some of my friends they went through the academy become police officers in Pleasant Grove and as they did that I talked to them and they talked about how much fun it was and so I'd go on ride along with them. And with that I saw that it wasn't the same thing everyday. Each time I went out with an officer or one of my friends as with officers they, it was different. Whether it was going to an alcohol party, pulling a person over writing a ticket, helping them unlock their car whatever it was, it was always different. And so they approached me and said, hey what do you want do do? You have a second language, I speak Spanish and so I said yeah that sounds good and when I talked about it with my wife and made sure everything was good with her, then went over the, as far as the schedule changes and things like that. And so she was on board with it and supported me and that's a huge thing, get support from your wife. And make sure everything is good there cause you could run into some problems but and so I got in was able to get into the police academy. Put myself through, my wife was working, I was able to go full time at the police academy. Came out, graduated from the police academy, came out and started reserving here at Pleasant Grove. And I was able to get on, get a full time job. And so it's been, it's been fun. Different situations, different jobs or different jobs in, as a police officer. And so it's been, it's been a good ride, I've enjoyed the eight years that I have been in and hopefully continue at least twelve more then I can retire and go from there."
