on 1/13/2009 I completed The Bodyguard Course ran by Elite Training Services in the UK.
I even set up a Bodyguard Academy when I lived in the UK .
However sadly there was not a lot of call for Bodyguard Services in the UK, And the Academy sadly failed .
I trained with ex SAS Instructors during my training in Close Protection. The Course covered all aspects of Close Protection: Walking drills, Vip Protection, Evasive & Defensive Driving, Bomb Search, Crowd Control, CQB, Firearms Training, Organising a Security Team, Route Recces- Planning Journeys, Ambush, First Aid, Surveillance, Radio Communication, Unarmed Combat, Firearms.
I got 3 assignments as a Bodyguard 2 in Germany 1 in the UK.
Bodyguard Jobs are extremely difficult to get. Bodyguard vacancies are filled by Ex Soldiers or Ex Police Officers in the UK even if the Soldier or Police Officer has no experience in VIP Protection.
I have however worked as a Nightclub Doorman - Thats a Bouncer in US terms, As well working Security in Prestigious Venues in the UK Like Harvey Nicholls Fith Floor Bar.
Ive also worked as a Martial Arts Instructor both in UK & Texas.
And yes I also speak Spanish.
Just cause one has completed Close Protection Courses as well as studied Close Protection Manuals does not guarantee one to a Career in Close Protection.

"Regarding to the topic of advice and tips on how to get into this field, I would recommend to the entry level individual trying to get into the field, especially in the private sector. Number one you want to identify firms in your area that provide this service. You want to try and get into their focus and field of attention, you want to let them know who you are, you want to send them a resume. You want to get training, you want to let them know that you're serious about the field, get some training behind you. Hopefully they'll then decide to earmark you and file you as a person of interest that they may want to use in the future. You want to try and get to that point where you get lucky enough to get selected for an entry level job. Getting this entry level experience is going to get your foot in the door. These are the things that you need to do from the private sector aspect. If you get into law enforcement, most law enforcement jobs do not do executive protection work as a standard. Some of them do, a lot of them do, let me correct that, a lot of them do from a small perspective. Police departments will have security details on the mayor, state police agencies will have security details on governors. The one large agency that does provide executive agent protection, well there's two of them actually, the Secret Service and the State Department, they're the department of diplomatic security. You may want to try and focus on trying to get into those type government jobs. But if you're in the private sector you're going to have to identify agencies that provide this type service and let them know who you are. I think the largest challenge, or the biggest challenge that you face in the private sector in executive protection is trying to accomplish a whole lot with a limited budget, and the way I put it in my training course is "trying to accomplish a whole lot with a whole little". It's not the same as when you're with the government where you have unlimited resources. In the private sector they expect you to do a lot and do it with one or two individuals. Unfortunately that's not going to be the optimum type security that you're going to want to provide, and if the threat level is extremely high, it's not going to be the kind of security that you want to provide at all."
