"Financial planner, Patrick Munro checking in with you about the difference between a living trust and wills. Basically, wills are something that I recommend everyone have irregardless of the signs of their estate or how much they actually have. This makes sure that your wishes are passed on when you can't speak for yourself to the people you have left behind. A will is a basic document that will protect the interest of your beneficiaries and to make sure that you do not die without a will. Because, that's called intestate. And, what happens is that the state that you die in will then take over your affairs and decide what will be done with what you have accumulated in your past. You do not want to have this happen. If you have a large amount of estate when you die, that is to say multiple properties, multiple securities and assets, perhaps a conflicts family as well in which to distribute these instruments then a living will or living trust is an important instrument to have. So, it's a simple will if your results are simple at the end life. Or, a living trust is the way to go if you have a complex life. This is financial adviser Patrick Munro, talking about the difference between living wills and trusts and a simple will."
