Hi my name is Chell Garcia-Trias and I'm a modern dance instructor in Austin, Texas. I'm going to show you how to do leaps. First of all I'm going to imagine that I am stepping over a giant puddle so I'm just going to step from my left foot on to my right so that's a small leap. Left foot on to my right. I want to straighten my legs in the air and I want to point my toes in the air. So left to right with pointed straight legs. Now I want to make it bigger and I want to do a developee into it. So I'm going to bring my toe to my knee and then out, into my knee and out. If I make it a little bit bigger. Now what am I going to do with my arms? Well I can shoot them out to the front and the side while I go so I'm going to try to make it a little bigger, I'm really going to bend my front leg. If you want you can run into this, it might be a little bit easier than just stepping into it so I'm going to developee and I am landing on a spent leg and my other leg stays up in the air. So last time, I'm going to just step on it, developee so that's the way I am going to do a modern dance leap.
