"Hi! My name is Chell Garcia-Trias and I am a modern dance instructor in Austin, Texas. I am going to show you how to do some simple shoulder rolls to warm up your shoulders before doing exercises in modern dance. So, all I am going to do is reach my shoulders up towards my ears, back, and down. Up around towards my ears, back, and down. So, we are going to do some of these just to gently warm our shoulders up. Try not to tighten up your shoulders too much while you do it. Let it be nice and smooth and relaxed. And, I will do them the other way. When I go to the back, I am really thinking of squeezing my shoulder blades together to bring my shoulders to the back. Back and around. Back and around. Back and around. I would do these for a few minutes and then do one shoulder and then the other. One and then the other. And, you will feel that this moves a little deeper into your spine and into the sides of your back. Do them the other way. And, you will feel things start to open up and warm up. And, you can also just shake your shoulders up and down and that will also help warm them up. Really think of dropping the shoulders. Dropping the shoulders. Dropping the shoulders. So, those are some simple ways to do shoulder rolls in modern dance to help you warm up."
