"Hi! My name is Chell Garcia-Trias and I am a modern dance instructor in Austin, Texas. I am going to show you a way to warm up your feet and your ankles in modern dance by flexing and pointing your feet, and then rolling through them. So first, I am going to put my feet in first position. The way that we would do it in modern dance. I am going to put my feet together and then I am going to open my toes up gently just to where it is comfortable. Now, what I am going to do is I am going to reach through the toe. I am going to point my toe to the front and bring it off the ground. If I need to, I can hold onto something. Then, I am going to flex the foot. I can feel my calves activating and my hamstring and my quad activating. Point and flex. Point and flex. And then, I am going to roll through the foot one way and roll through the foot the other way. And then, I am point and come back together and do my other foot. I will reach out through the toe. I will flex. I will point. I will flex. I will point and then I will roll through the ankle. Roll through the ankle one way. Roll through it the other way. Just warming up my feet. Then, I will point it and I will bring them back together. So, that is a great way to warm up the feet in modern dance. Doing pointing and flexing and rolling through the ankles."
