"Hi, my name is Chell Garcia-Trias, and I'm a modern dance instructor in Austin, Texas. I'm going to show you a modern dance warm up where we're going to roll through the feet. To warm are feet up before we start to move. So what I'm going to do is I'm going to push on to the top of my toe. And then I'm going to switch feet and push on to the other toe. So I'm really stretching my toe there. I'm not just kind of hanging out. I'm stretching it as much as I can. I'm lifting the rest of my foot up while keeping my toe on the ground as much as I can. So I'm going to push on to one foot and then the other. On to one foot and then the other. So it's going to stretch my feet out while it warms them up. One foot and then the other. And if I want, I can do a little bit of an added variation on that where I push through the foot and then I'm going to use my toe to push my foot off the ground. And then I'm going to bring it back down. And back down. So it's stretch the toe push it off the ground, put it back on the ground and down. So I'm really using my toe to push off the ground. It's my toe that pushes off the ground. I'm not just picking my foot up. I'm using my foot and my toe. It's a great warm up for the entire foot. Especially if you're going to do a lot of moving. One. And I could do these in all of the different positions. I can do it in first position. If I wanted to, I could do it in second position. But it's a great warm up in any position for my feet. And a great stretch also for my feet."
