Hi, my name is Chell Garcia-Trias, and I'm a modern dancer in Austin, Texas, and a modern dance instructor. I'm going to show you how to do a modern dance slide across the floor. What I'm going to do, is I'm going to push off of, well, first I'm going to drop one leg, so that my knee's on the ground, and I'm going to put my other foot in front of that foot that's laying on the ground. Then, I'm going to push off of that foot, and slide across my leg across the floor. I'm going to use this hand to help me. So, I'm going to take, use my arm and push with my foot, and slide across the floor. I really want to drag my back foot, and I really want to let it really move. So, as much as possible, I'm going to slide across the floor. Another way to do that, would be to slide this leg, when I kick, not slide it, but, straighten it out like this, to get a little more motion. So, I might come around myself a little bit, if I want, like that. And you can get it kind of to where you're really spinning if you want to, too. So, I'm going to use this arm, and I'm going to kick this leg around, to here. So, that's a pushing slide against, across the floor, the way I would do it in modern dance, and the way you could do it with a twist as well.
