"Hi my name is Dan Schmidt from the Chinese Martial Arts Center in Seminole and today in this clip we are going to be showing you how to perform the upward folding elbow lock. So from a punch you want to lean in towards them, your rear shoulder towards their rear shoulder. You want to grab, place your hand on the outside of their arm, twist up, step in, pull the elbow this way. So again, so they punch, you want to block in, twist, now twist their wrist toward the outside and twist their elbow up, so you are here, step in and straight down. If you keep twisting you will snap the elbow joint like this and it is very important that you fold the wrist down. So they punch, grab, twist, step straight in and step behind this way. Some common errors are when people go to twist don't keep the arm just a little bit bent like this, this is easy to resist you want to bend up as much as you can and push straight up. One more, block, grab, press, step, press straight down. That's the proper way to perform the upward folding elbow lock."
