Hi my name is Dan Schmidt from the Chinese Martial Arts Center in Seminole and in this clip today we are going to be showing you the proper way to perform the over and under wrist lock. So when you are fighting and somebody punches straight in you are going to block, grab, step behind, come up with the hand, pull their arm in and press, right here. The finer points, when they punch, yield back a little bit and roll your wrists towards theirs, grab, and when you step straight in, hit this arm straight up, hitting the elbow joint, and then folding the arm in, pull down and place your hand on tops of theirs and keep your elbows close to your ribs. Also your knee, place your knee behind theirs and then you want to flex the wrist and pull straight down, press. So this forces their leg down and breaks the wrist at the same time this way. If you miss with the leg, it will still work but this puts more pressure and so you are here and they punch so block, twist and step, come straight up, press down, one more time, they punch, block, grab, step, press and that's the proper way to perform the twisting wrist lock.
