Hi, my name's Dan Schmidt from Chinese Martial Arts Center in Seminole and in this clip we're going to be showing you the proper way to perform the twisting elbow lock. O.k.,so this one's performed usually from either a punch or a grab. In the instance of a punch, o.k. you're here, o.k. they punch straight in towards the chest, you can just use your forearm and yield. Then you want to come around quickly, grab, step in, and press straight down. O.k., so when they punch, block it using the arm. O.k., when you turn use your hips and then you want to slide down and grab the arm very quickly and continue twisting in. So you want their palm facing up. From there you want to bring in your forearm this way and step behind their leg, you can bend your leg into their's. Place your arm across the tricep area or the elbow, doesn't make a difference. Twist in, press and pull up, press straight down this way. O.k., so the knee helps press his knee straight down to the ground. O.k., so performed a little faster, he punches, so you block, grab, press, straight down. O.k., so once again. Bock, slide down and twist, step in, press. That's the proper way to perform the twisting elbow lock.
