Hi my name is Dan Schmidt from the Chinese Martial Art Center in Seminole and today we are going to be performing in this clip the low rowing block thrust combination. So with this combination you want to start with the thumb to thumb grip in the middle of the staff and slide your hands out about shoulder width. So right here, take a forward stance like this so with the right hand being rowing as if you are in a boat to the outside of the body and the left hand comes over the top and out to the inside of the body. From here you want to pull the staff straight in, come up, step down, poke straight out and keep the duck head with the hand right at the solar plexus so I am up, duck head with the right hand, I step out and duck head with this hand. So you are here, you want to roll, pull and thrust. So once again you can go from right here, row, pull, thrust. This is how it is used so the rowing is against low attacks. So you are here and you row one, row two, pull up, thrust straight in or if I was farther away so he is far go one, two, then I can move in and thrust straight out. That is how you perform the low rowing thrust combination.
