Hi, my name is Dan Schmidt from the Chinese Martial Arts Center in Seminole. Today we're going to be performing the Downward Rowing Overhead Strike Combination. Okay, so you want to start like this. So start in the middle of the staff, thumb to thumb. Slide your hands out, shoulder width. Okay, so from here, just step forward like this. Okay, you're right hand is going to go down pass the leg as the left hand just naturally comes up. Keep the staff close to your body as if you're like rowing a boat. So you're here, pop up in a Crane at the same time, and continue the movement, come up with the right hand, step out, smash straight down. Okay. So you're here, block pass the leg, come up in a Crane, step out, smash. So once more, you're here, so row, smash, one continuous movement. Up, smash. Okay. So this is used like this. So, if we're fighting and he wants to come in and strike towards the leg, block, smash down right to the top of the head or to the temple, whatever you can get. So once again, he comes in, deflect, okay, straight out to the side, and continue the movement don't stop from straight over the top, smash. So once again, he thrusts in, so, block, smash. That's how you perform the Downward Rowing Head Strike Combination.
