"Hello I'm Sifu Mallon with the Clearwater Kung Fu Center and this is my assistant Melissa and this is kick boxing. The kick boxing technique that we are working on next is called our switch round kick. Switch meaning that my feet are switching positions and my left foot is in front and my right foot is in rear and the switch happens when my front foot goes back and my back foot goes forward, switch. Again, switch. Now the switch kick position is to where you are not really moving forward or moving backward but staying in the same spot. I'll deliver the technique for you a couple of times normal speed and then I'll have Melissa go through it a little slower for you. So I start and my hands and shoulders are relaxed, elbows are down and hands are up. My body is loose, I feel stable, yet mobile. I bend down and I load my legs up and now my right shoulder is going to pull back this way. As the right shoulder goes the left foot goes back and the right hip goes forward during the round kick. Again. One more at normal speed. Okay Melissa step forward and let's go through it a few times for everybody slow. Okay so the hands are up and the body is in our fighting stance, loose, okay load the leg and bend the knees. Now the idea here is that this foot goes back and this foot goes forward. The legs aren't going like this but more on a circular like turning the wheel of a car. Okay she loads, left foot goes back, right foot goes forward, round kick, land. Good, again, bend the knees, load, switch. One more switching round kick Melissa, bend, switch round kick, good. You notice that her hands stay up and her eyes stay forward looking at the target. This is switching round kick, kick boxing."
