"Hello my name is Sifu Mallon with the Clearwater Kung Fu Center. This is my assistant Melissa and this is Kickboxing. The Kickboxing technique we're going to be working is called a Rear Leg SideKick. Performing this sidekick, we're going to do a small step to the side with our lead foot. We're going to bring our rear knee up and the technique is an angled kick. So that means, if Melissa is my opponent, "go ahead and stand right in front of me, Melissa", okay, and I'm putting her here, means that if I'm facing this way, I step to the side of her this way, my knee lifts and then I throw the sidekick, boom, on the angle. So, this is a quick angle kick. Okay, one more time at normal speed. I do the side step. I base out on this knee, I bring this knee up, lift, sidekick, step down, reset. "Melissa come forward, let's go through it nice and slow for everybody". So we're in our normal fighting position, right, both feet same position. We take our forward foot, we step out. Good. Now here, this knee is going to lift and we're going to bend this knee and put our base on that side. Lift the knee and base, kick out, step down and land. Reset. Again, so that means if I'm facing right in front of Melissa, she's going to step to the side, lift, fire the sidekick, step down and back. Again, some of the finer points in sidekick, you want to deliver with the edge of your foot. This is from your heel all way down the edge to your pinkie toe. This is how we deliver Rear Sidekick, Kickboxing."
