"Hello I'm Sifu Mallon with the Clearwater Kung Fu Center and this is my assistant Melissa and this is kick boxing. The kick boxing technique that we are working on is called rear low round kick. So rear describing which part of the body I'm throwing from the rear part, low describing the height of your kick, this is low. This means that you are kicking anywhere from the hip to the ankle. Round kick meaning that you are turning the body and you are using the round kick technique. Your round kick technique is the hinging kick. This is where your leg goes from a bent position to a straightened position, bent position to a straightened position. Okay so doing it from normal speed. I start from my fighting stance. I feel stable yet I feel mobile. I am going to turn my front foot out and take a small step to the side bending the knee. I bring my rear knee forward and my rear hip forward. I keep my hands up and I fire the low kick, bring it down and step back. One more time at normal speed, step back. Okay Melissa come out and let's go through it nice and easy for everybody. So she is in her stance. Her arms are relaxed, shoulders are down. She takes a step with her forward foot. Now if I take a straight line and put that foot back where it was Melissa. If I take a straight line and put it right here between your foot this whole foot wants to step out and turn outward, good. Bending the knee, now she is going to push off this foot and bring hip and shoulder forward. Put your foot down and step back. Now as you perform this right you can throw the kick, put it out there and now bring it back behind you or you can throw the kick and put it in front of you. Okay this way you would do it to where you could advance putting in many combinations. This technique is called our rear low round kick, kick boxing."
