"My name is Wes Rhodes and I am from the Chinese Kung Fu Academy for Expert Village and this is Kung Fu Sparring Technique, Hook Bar, Backfist. Now this is a good technique because you can use it either against a punch or a kick. I like it against the punch because it is a very quick counter and sets you up for a lot of other techniques. As you see the punch coming in you are going to slide the weight back, hooking with the hand and as soon as you feel that block touch you are going to drive it back until you stop and hit him in the head. Same difference if they kick, if they kick slide back hooking the kick and then driving in with the backfist. With the kick you may have to move a little bit further. As they do a punch the punch comes in, you hook down and then drive the backfist up, just using the whip of the backfist to put power into the technique. One slow, one, two, one fast, one, two. With the kick they do the side kick as they come down. Again slow, is one, two, and a little bit faster is one, two, just like that. One more fast, one, two, just like that. Now again for the backfist, point the elbow, let the arm whip out naturally and when they're doing a sidekick you will actually land into your punch a little bit increasing the power of the technique. This can be performed on either side blocking with either hand but you want to remember to move to the outside of the attacker. Again my name is Wes Rhodes and I'm from the Chinese Kung Fu Academy and that is how you perform hook block, backfist."

on 8/2/2008 A good one, especially with that shuffling in and snapping that backfist out, say to the temple. A fast shot.
