"I'm sorry, I love that Sean Kingston or is it Sean Penn? I get them confused, doesn't matter. I'm Marvelous Marvin, professionally trained disc jockey. I've been on the radio for thirty years. I've been a mobile DJ for thirty years. And we're talking about basically songs not to play. Now you're thinking, Marvin you're a geezer, how can there be songs not to play? When you meet with the bride and the groom, they're going to sometimes tell you, I don't want to hear the Chicken Dance, I don't want to hear the Macarena, I don't want to hear The Electric Slide, and you're going to yourself, Oh man, those are the songs that everybody loves to dance to. But guess what? The bride and groom, they pretty much call the shots musically at the wedding reception. So you take down a list of the songs they don't want to hear. That's fine. Now when you get to the actual party, people are drinking having fun. What's going to happen, somebody's going to come up and say, Hey, hey Marvin, can you play The Electric Slide? And you're going to do this. You're going to say, Well the bride has requested that I don't play The Electric Slide, but I'll tell you what. If you can go ask the bride and she comes and tells me to play The Electric Slide, I'll play it. Strangely enough, and this happens more with The Chicken Dance than any other song in my experience. The bride's going to go, Yea, we're having a good time. She's had a few drinks, she just got married, she's half out of her mind. Put on The Electric Slide, put on The Chicken Dance, if the bride comes up and tells you to. And chances are, not only will the bride be pleased, she'll be the first one on the dance floor with a drink in hand, going like this and all the rest of the stuff that goes with that Chicken Dance or doing The Electric Slide or all that. So its important to have a list of songs, if they give it to you, not to play. And stick to that list unless you get permission from the people that hired you for the party. It's very important, songs to play and songs not to play. I'm Marvelous Marvin, mobile DJ and don't play them bad songs."
