"I'm sorry man, just love that Tex Ritter or is it Josh Ritter. I get them confused, doesn't matter. I'm Marvelous Marvin, professionally trained disc jockey. I've been a radio DJ for thirty years. I've been a mobile DJ for thirty years. And once you've gotten your deposit from the bride and groom, you've been hired for the gig, you want to call them up when you get that deposit and say I got your deposit let's set up a time we can meet and plan your wedding reception. And make it a place and time it's convenient for them, not you. You're working for them. It could be their house, it could be a book store, it could be a restaurant, especially nice if they're paying, think about that. But what you want to do is you want to sit down and you want to tell them this. There's no right or wrong with a wedding reception. It's what you want to do. And you can tell them about a basic outline. The basic outline is you introduce the bride and groom, they dance to their first song, they do a toast, they eat. You want to have a father daughter dance, a mother son dance, maybe a mother mother dance, who knows, these days you can't tell. And then you want to do that kind of stuff. You plan it out with them, make sure that they're happy. And it sets everybody at ease to meet face to face if possible before the event. And you make sure that you tell them after the meeting, and they're all happy with the format and all this and that, make sure you tell them that they can call you anytime, right up to the day of the wedding, the event, the party, whatever it is, make yourself totally accessible. Again, you're working for them. You're not doing them a favor. You're working for them. So you want to make them feel very important. Because they are. And that's the deal. So that's the meeting. You sit down, everybody has a good time, and you're off to a good start. I'm Marvelous Marvin, mobile DJ and we're talking the meeting with the bride and the groom and the family too. They bring those, but you know. What can you do?"
