"Oh excuse me I can't get enough of that Kenny Chesney. He drives me crazy. He's cute, too. Hi I'm Marvelous Marvin professionally trained disc jockey talking about how to be a mobile DJ. Now previously we've talked about amplifiers. We've talked about turntables, whether you want to use computers, you want to use an iPod. Whatever you want to do. The other thing you need to complete the picture, speakers. Now I was going to bring my speakers here and show you to them. They're nice JBL's. They're floor standing. They're about, oh about five feet tall. But they weigh 95 pounds. And I wasn't going to plug them in so I didn't want to bring them in. I'm a DJ you're allowed to be lazy when you're a DJ. Speakers are very important. Now you can spend a lot of money on speakers. You're going to have to spend at least five hundred bucks for one good speaker. You're going to need two. So there's a thousand bucks. You could spend a whole lot more than that. But you've got to figure most of the places you play are going to be medium to small rooms. So you don't need giant speakers. Do you need sub woofers? That's a personal question. Do you want a sub woofer? My speakers have two fifteen inch base speakers, a mid range and a tweeter. They're made by JBL. I'd give you the exact model but JBL's not paying me. Just go to a music store, listen to them yourself and that's what you want to do. Use your own ears. But you don't need to spend a whole lot of money because you're not going to need to fill up a room that big. Chances are if you had a room that's really big they'll have their own sound system. Speakers, very important. Listen yourself. What you like. They've got to sound good because that's what everybody is going to judge you by more than any other piece of your equipment. I'm Marvelous Marvin talking about speakers and helping you become a mobile disc jockey."
