"You know sparklers can add fun to any type of party or holiday event. Hi I'm Captain Joe Bruni with over three decades of firefighting and emergency medical experience. A common consumer firework known as the sparkler should be used by individuals with the safety factor or margin of standing at least six feet away from other individuals that may be holding lit sparklers themselves. Also six feet away as a minimum from any type of building combustible or other type of flammable product. Things like leaves, dry grass or any other thing that may ignite from the use of the common sparkler, could cause a big sparkler. So remember as a bare minimum the distance or safe operating practice to using the common sparkler is to stand at least six feet away from other individuals and any type of building or combustible material like leaves or dry grass. It's also a good idea to keep a bucket of water handy after the sparkler extinguishes to drop the burned off sparkler into that bucket of water. I'm Captain Joe Bruni stay safe and we'll see you next time."
