"You know the common consumer sparkler can add any type of fun to any type of party or holiday event. Hi, I'm Captain Joe Bruni with over three decades of fire fighting and emergency medical service experience. The common consumer sparkler can add a lot of fun to any event. However, one of the basic safety rules to using sparklers is to always remain standing while this device is burning and lit. Sparklers emit showers of hot burning sparks and can burn from eleven to eighteen hundred degrees. This type of device can cause a burn injury to anybody in the general area including the user. So always remember to remain standing. Do not walk around or run while the sparkler is burning throughout it's life cycle. Hold the sparkler at arms length and stand upright and erect during the whole time that the sparkler is burning. In this way you will eliminate or possibly reduce the chances of burn injuries and other flammable problems during sparkler use. I'm Captain Joe Bruni. Stay safe and we'll see you next time."
