"You know, using consumer sparklers at any party or holiday event can be a lot of fun and excitement. Hi, I'm Captain Joe Bruni with over three decades of fire and emergency medical service experience. The common consumer sparkler adds a lot of fun to any party or holiday event. However, when handling such consumer type of firework, or the common sparkler, remember a few safety rules. Only light one at a time, keep them at arms length while using them, and never throw or point at another person. It is common for young children to want to wave the sparkler and move it around. However, this adds to the hazard and unsafe practices using consumer sparklers. Children should be supervised by a competent adult, and held at arms length and taught to only use one sparkler at a time, do not throw, point at any person, and do not have the sparkler in motion as it is burning down to the end. I'm Captain Joe Bruni. Stay safe, and we'll see you next time."
