"You know, consumer fireworks can add a lot of fun and excitement during any party or holiday event. Hi, I'm Captain Joe Bruni, with over three decades of fire fighting, hazardous materials, and emergency medical service response experience. What we're going to talk about is the safe handling practices of the common consumer firework. Something as simple as the common sparkler should never be waved around, pointed at someone, or thrown towards anybody or a group of people. The same holds true for the common firework, like this fountain that emits showers of sparks. Common bottle rockets or roman candles should never be pointed, used as a weapon, or thrown at other individuals, as this could cause not only a burn injury, but also an explosive type of blast injury to that person. This is a good general safety rule to follow to keep safe, and to enjoy having a safe and fun holiday or party season. I'm Captain Joe Bruni. Stay safe, and we'll see ya' next time."
