"You know consumer fireworks can add fun to any type party or holiday event. Hi, I'm Captain Joe Bruni with over three decades of firefighting and emergency medical service experience. Across the nation it's common during the holiday season to purchase and use consumer fireworks. It's also common at party and holiday events for individuals to partake in some type of alcoholic adult beverage. However, these two items should never be mixed. Anyone designated as the responsible adult to be the ignition person commonly known as the shooter or the individuals who are going to partake in using consumer fireworks such as you see before me like these fountains and common sparklers should never partake of any type of alcoholic beverage. Those two do not mix as injuries and fires are common across the United States from consumer types of firework use every year. Fire departments respond to over ten thousand injuries and fifty thousand fires each holiday season from the use of consumer fireworks. Keep in mind, never mix alcohol and fireworks. I'm Captain Joe Bruni, stay safe and we'll see you next time."
