"You know the common consumer fireworks available to the average American citizen can add great fun and excitement to any party or holiday event. Hi, I'm Captain Joe Bruni with over three decades of firefighting, and emergency medical service experience. What we're going to discuss is the common firework that either misfires or can be classified as dud. Frequently a fuse may burn down to the firework and burn itself out or self extinguish without the firework actually going off and becoming a dud. When this occurs the firework should not be approached or touched for approximately twenty minutes. Then that dud or misfire should be doused with water and then placed in a bucket of common water to ensure extinguishment. Never try to relight a dud. Many injuries occur across the country from common consumer fireworks from such practices of trying to relight a misfire or a dud. Again wait 20 minutes, douse with water, and then place in a bucket of water for the sole purpose of extinguishment of the common consumer firework that misfires. I'm Captain Joe Bruni, stay safe and we'll see you next time."
