"Hello I'm Sifu Mallon with the Clearwater Kung Fu Center. This is my assistant Melissa and this is Kickboxing. The next Pad basic we're working is for what's called Overhand Swing. The Overhand Swing simulates when actually throwing a hook punch at you, okay. So simulating someone throwing a hook punch, right, or even throwing a rear leg round kick over you. So the technique is going to start this way, we both step forward left to left. Okay, my hands, okay, my gloves or my mitts are what we're working on. So I'm going to fire my mitt forward, as the right hand comes, she's going to go to the right, she's going to roll over. Now my hand goes out, across and then straight back. Again same action, I go forward, around, straight back. One more time, boom. Okay, going the opposite way, I throw the left hook, reach, pull back in. Okay, one, two. It's important that I'm not using too much motion here, so I'm not really trying to swing my arms like this over them, but I want to go ahead and as my hand is going up doing that left hand again, my hand is going towards shoulder, overhead and then back. So by the time they pop up, my mitts are ready to receive punches. Okay. So this is Overhead Swing Holding Pads, Kickboxing."
