"Hello I'm Sifu Mallon with the Clearwater Kung Fu Center. This is my assistant Melissa and this is Kickboxing. We're working on Pad basics. The next focus Pad basic that we're working is Holding The Rear Leg Round Kick. Now Rear Leg Round Kick is an extremely fast and powerful kick. So a lot of times you'll see people holding their pads and they'll place one hand out for the kick. Now you'll see when this hand gets hit, the hand flies out of this. Okay. So we want to keep our hands into the body, we want a double hands, we want to actually, we want to support one hand with the other hand. Now, doing the technique, so I'll have Melissa come over here, right here, okay. Now, going through it slow. So if she has her left foot forward, I'm going to step back with my left foot. I'm going to drop my left hand to the side, I'm going to bring my right hand behind it to back it up. Now, she's going to fire the rear leg round kick, land. Now it's important, right, so she does the kick, if I'm, my left foot in front I'm doing this and I put it here, right, and she throws the kick, my body is going to be in the way for the next technique. So we want to be able to use the drilled, do it continuously. So if she goes here, I'm here, my left hand in front, right hand supporting it, kick. Now, from here I step back, my right hand goes up, my left hand comes behind it, she throws the kick, good. I step back again, again, good. As you'll see my upper body, right, is rounded out, and from this way, elbows are round, this is round and I'm pushing outward supporting my hand with the rest of my body. This is the Holding, Holding The Target For Our Rear Leg Round Kick, Kickboxing."
