"Hi, this is John Stewart, and this is how to put the poles together for setting up your tent. Once you've got your tent laid out, you need to gather all the poles that come with the tent and lay them out so you can sort through them and get them all set up. Most tents have two to three sets of poles, they come in different lengths for different tents. Some tents have poles, that have bungee cords ran through them so that they stretch and they just pop right together once you unfold them. These are real easy to put together, you just fold them out, and they go right together. The other type of poles don't have bungee running through them and they just, you have to force them together. Some have clips, that you lock them together, others don't. When you do put your poles together, they all come with ferrules. This is when the poles is a certain diameter to a certain point, and then it gets skinnier so you can insert it into the other pole. These poles hold up and last a really long time. When you do set up your poles, if you notice a crack, a break, a bend, this is a great time to fix it. You can normally take bends out of the poles by just slowly bending them back into place. If you have a crack or a tear in your pole, you can take Duct tape, wrap it around there so that the crack doesn't increase. And also, if it is broken in half, you can do a field repair by taking a strong stick, a metal stake, and duct taping that to put your pole back together. And this is how to put the poles together for setting up your tent."
