When you clear the site for setting up the tent, you don't want to move everything out by taking a rake or anything like that. Some things can help you. The things that you do want to get rid of, logs, stumps, branches. Anything that might possibly be painful when sleeping on it. Or the big thing is, it might ruin your tent by poking a hole in it, ripping it, tearing it, something like that. You can find areas with pine cones, nice lofty grass. These things can help when it comes to sleeping. They're like a natural bed pad. So you don't want to get rid of all that stuff. You want to get rid of wet tree, wet moss, trees, wet leaves. These things can saturate through your tent, and cause problems later in the night.
