"Hello, my name is Officer Mike Roach and I currently work with the Utah Department of Wildlife Resources. I've been doing this job for about eleven years. Today I'd like to talk to you, talk to you about becoming a Game Warden for the State of Arizona. Arizona requires you to be at least twenty-one years of age before you apply. You also need to be a U.S. Citizen. They require that you have a Biological Science Degree in a wildlife related or a natural resource related field. They give preference to people that have master's degree. You're also going to be required to pass a background investigation. An investigation is primarily so that you can be able to enter their Police Academy in the State of Arizona. As a Game Warden, you will be required to enforce those state laws in Arizona applicable to wildlife and other state laws and in order to enter in, you need to be able to pass the background investigation. They also require that you be physically fit and be able to pass a physical examination because what you do as a Game Warden is fairly physical. We do a lot of hiking, we also occasionally have to move wild animals and pick up heavy things. Also while going to the Police Academy, they have certain physical requirements and you have to be able to meet or exceed those requirements."
