"Hi, I'm Ginger walker, owner of Clean Junkies, and today we're going to talk about how to wash hats. A few things that you need to do before you get ready to wash your hat is; if it's an older hat it's probably got a cardboard brim. If it's made past '78 which is most of your hats, then it's got a plastic brim so you don't have to worry so much about how you care for it. If you do have a cardboard brim it's an older, what you'll do is you'll just get a rag and some mild detergent and you're going to wash you know, your inside of your brim, rinse your towel really good and then wash it again to get the detergent off of there. And then you're just going to dry it that way. That's if you've got the cardboard brim. Now if you've got the plastic brim, you, there's a variety of ways you can do it. You can just throw it in the wash, you know that's, I've done that several times and never ruined a hat so it's fine. You've also got some high tech little contraptions here that you put your hat inside, clip it down, and you can throw this right into the washer. There is another thing that you can do with this hat, is you can leave it in this little plastic container here and put it right in the dishwasher and wash it that way."
