"Hey guys! This clip we're going to talk about making a hip hop beat a little bit different than a techno beat. We're going to slow the tempo of a hip hop beat down usually between BPM range of about seventy and a hundred BPM. In this case ninety four and one of the major differences in a hip hop beat for a techno beat is also going to be the use of the kick drum. It's not going to maintain the stable floor on the floor pattern. It's actually going to embellish it a little bit and let’s talk about that. Let’s start out with our basic clap and high hat and let’s add a kick. All right lets record that. (Recording beat.) All right there we go. Now let’s bring our base line back. See how the kick, snare and hat base line really make it hip hop beat now? And that's how to create a hip hop beat."
