"Hi, my name is Maria Enomoto from Consumer Credit Counseling Service of Ventura County, and today we're going to learn how to remove a judgment from your credit report. Usually you get a judgment about of credit, in regards of credit on your credit report when you owe some money that hasn't been satisfied, and a creditor has taken their legal tools in order to get their money back. This means that they have taken you to court to pursue the money. So if you happen to have a judgment in your records, it's probably under public records and the information will remain there on the public records until you satisfy the debt. So if you have paid them, you can have the creditor file some paperwork so it's going to be reported on the credit report as resolved. And there after that, it'll remain on your credit report for seven years. But if you at the moment hasn't paid for this judgment, and you still having a balance that you owe or a amount that you owe on this judgment, it will remain there. It's not going to get out of your credit report until you pay that and wait seven years."
