Video Transcript

"Hi my name is Maria Enomoto from Consumer Credit Counseling Service and we are going to be talking about how to become a credit counselor. In my case, my personal experience I worked for a consumer credit counselor service which is under the umbrella of the national foundation of credit counselor, NFCC. So in order for us to become a credit counselor at the beginning, we need to pass several tests involving credit, bankruptcy and housing issues. We also have some training on the acts and the rights that people have in regards to their credit. And that's the way we also renew our certification. We have to provide education to the community. Even by doing the counseling session or teaching some class outside or preparing ourselves to become a better counselor. Have the knowledge of the topics we are going to discuss and to better address the problems of the clients may have."
