"Hi this is John Stewart and this is how to lay bedding for a lean to shelter in case you need to survive out of it. Once you've found a area to building your lean to shelter, pick your tree that you're going to prop it up against, and before you building your shelter you're going to want to lay some bedding down. This is going to make it where it's comfortable for you, going to give you some insulation in case it's cold outside. Pretty much you can use just about anything that's soft. Some things that come to mind, pine straw. If you got some pine straw, pile it up nice and thick, you can sleep on that. And it's going to be comfortable. Other things, straw grass. Dead or alive, okay. Find that lay it down, it works. Other things that you can find and use are really big leaves, some trees put off some really, really big leaves, these are going to be good so that you don't have to have quite as much, and they're a lot tougher than some of the straw grass. They're going to stay in place a little better. So if you can find some really big leaves from like banana trees, palm trees something like that, they’ll make real good bedding, and they'll last you a little bit longer. And that's some of the ways to lay a bedding for building a lean to shelter."
