"Hi, my name is Michael Quebec and today's subject is how to use a calorie expenditure chart. If you take a look at your chart, to the left is different activities listed. If you take a look at that same chart at the top is a bunch of numbers. Those numbers at the very top are different weight classes. Now going from the activity which is on the left, to the, our weight classes which is at the top you would find the amount of calories burned per hour. So for instance, aerobic dance for a person who weighs one hundred and fifty pounds, aerobic dance burns one hundred and seventy two calories an hour. For that same person who weighs one hundred and fifty pounds doing a leisurely non game of basketball burns about, about one hundred ninety five calories an hour. So that's basically how you use your calorie expenditure chart. Find your weight at the top, find your activity that you are doing to the left and then from there find the point where the two meet and you'll have how many calories you've burned in an hour. If you do less or more then an hour, then you do the math. If it's twenty minutes obviously that's a third of an hour so you divide that time by three. If it's two hours multiply it by two."
