"Hi my name is Mike Quebec and today's subject is how to burn calories while weight training, weight lifting. Of course, here is two kinds of burns, there is the burn done during the exercise and then for resistance training there is an after burn. Which varies from person to person but the calories burned during weight training are specific according to your body weight. And you will need an exercise chart, a calorie burn chart to determine that. Off the top of my head I'm a hundred and fifty pounds. For a person who is a hundred and fifty pounds, weight training at the time of executing the exercise burns about five point nine calories a minute. Ok so I'm going to demonstrate some exercises and the simple act of doing them will burn calories, but we're going to show you how to track your calories, so go ahead and follow me. So remember when you are doing any sort of muscle work, you want to work opposing muscle so if I am working my bicep with some bicep curls, then I also want to work my triceps, which is the muscle on the opposite side. Four sets, two sets of twelve, two sets of ten is usually conventional. And if you are keeping track of the amount of time spent during weight training then you can do the math. Lets say I've worked out for thirty minutes, thirty minutes times the amount of calories burned in weight training at my weight. Thirty times five point nine will give me the exact number, well I should say approximate number of calories burned during weight training."
