"Hi, my name is Mike Quebec and today's subject is how to slow down your metabolism. In other words, how to burn fewer calories and actually gain weight. The first question you might be asking yourself if you have just happened to come onto this subject is why would anybody want to slow down their metabolism. Why would anybody want to actually gain weight? Keep in mind there are people who can't gain weight because their metabolism is so high, or at least they have a difficult time gaining weight. People are underweight or chronically for like I'm going to turn skinny and they want to build muscle mass, or at least gain a healthier weight. So, yes, there are health benefits under control, under the right circumstances, to slow down your metabolism and gain weight. First thing is, you do want to eat more higher calorie foods. Now, that I should say with caution. That doesn't mean you have a license to eat junk food, and eat lots of saturated fats, because yes, you will gain weight, but you could also potentially die from a heart attack. So, high calorie foods that are healthy. Peanut butter, any kind of nuts, avocados, those are unsaturated fats. Unsaturated fats are those fats that in their liquid form at room temperature will remain liquid. Which means they won't solidify, and they won't solidify in your arteries and veins causing cardiovascular disease. So you want to eat a lot of high calorie healthy foods, unsaturated fats. The other thing is, you still want to exercise, but you want to limit the amount of high impact cardio aerobic type of exercise, you want to go with more low impact, muscle building exercises. So, I'm a martial artist, so I'll demonstrate from my martial arts background a high impact aerobic exercise would be anything when you're moving around a lot, right. Well, in which case, if you're doing like squatting exercises, these are isometric exercises that I do for muscle strength. These types of things, or weight training, weight training is perfectly fine. With heavier weights, and make sure that you're spotted. You've got a partner spot you with that. Heavy weight training will also develop more weight, will also get you heavier, but in a healthy, more balanced, more fit way. So, those are the two things that you want to do. Eat more, high calorie, healthy foods with unsaturated fats, and do more low impact resistance training. And with that, you should be able to slow down your metabolism and gain weight without getting obese. Thank you."
