"Hi, I'm Stan DeFreitas, Mr Green Thumb, for On Gardening. One of the age old debates, is seeds versus getting a four pack, or a six pack in a planter, and it really depends on what you're looking for. Some seeds like radishes, will have to come in seed packages, but if you're going to get four eggplant, for the average family, this is probably a gracious plenty. How many eggplants are you going to use, unless you're going to start freezing them? Now with seeds, of course you can get a bunch. If you've got beans, we mentioned radishes, parsnip, they're going to have to be raised from seed, but if you're going for tomatoes, you could raise them from seed, but remember, that's the critical point. When that little seedling starts to sprout, if it gets any kind of dryness, it's going to die, so for most folks I recommend that you go to your local nursery, get a little four pack, or a little six pack of already started seedlings, and they're going to usually be three to six inches high, and they're ready to grow. We can just take them out. Make sure you put them about the same depth level that they were planted in the container, and you're good to grow. For On Gardening, I'm Stan DeFreitas, Mr. Green Thumb."
