"Hello, I'm Sifu Mallon with the Clearwater Kung Fu Center. This is Kung Fu for health. We're going to be working a jump kick today, this is called jump switch front kick. This is a stationary jump kick to where your feet are switching off in the air. I'll demonstrate it slowly and break down each movement for you to begin with. We're starting from our fighting stance, both feet general direction, knees are bent, body weight is in the center. The arms are just loose into what's called a split guard position. The switch happens where your body dips down first, loading your legs up. At this point, your legs should feel spring like, from here, you're going to push your head up, your right foot is going to go back, and your left foot is going to go forward. As you land or as you're in the air, you're left foot is going to lift up and thrust out. If you can see the foot, the toes are arched back and the ball of the foot is pressing forward, making this a front kick. Demonstrating it one more time, slow, dip, jump, switch, front kick. Going full speed. Again. Again. Opposite side. Again with the right foot kicking, I dip, jump, front kick. This is how we perform jump switch front kick, Kung Fu for health."
