Video Transcript

"Hello, I'm Sifu Mallon with the Clearwater Kung Fu center. This is Kung Fu for health. We're going to be focusing on what's called our jump heel kick. To start with, the heel kick is a forward stepping position. It's a hinging kick, this is where your knee lifts up and your foot thrusts out, as your foot thrusts out, you're going to pull your toe back to you and push your heel forward, making it a heel kick. The jumping action, if I step with my right foot, this means I'm going to kick with my right foot. I'm going to step right, I'm going to lift my left knee up into what's called tuck jump, as this knee lifts up, I'm going to thrust my right knee up into the air and fire the right heel kick. The arms for the technique are just hanging down by your side. So, I take my right step, my left knee lifts, I jump, heel kick. Again, again. On the opposite side, I take my left step, if I step with my left, I kick with my left. My right knee is going to lift, I'm going to thrust off my left leg throwing the right knee up at the same time, heel kick. Fast. As then I land, again, landing softly absorbing the shock with your legs and not with your spine. This is jumping heel kick, Kung Fu for health."
