Growing Hibiscus Plants

"Hi I'm Stan DeFreitas, Mr. Green Thumb, for On Gardening. Hibiscus one of my favorite plants. Somebody asked me recently which would win, hibiscus versus roses, in a knock down match. I don't know, I'd probably go with the hibiscus because it blooms every day about ten months a year and those beautiful blooms keep on coming. Roses of course have black spot powdery mildew, downy mildew, spider mites and aphids and other than that they're trouble free so I'd probably go with the hibiscus because it doesn't have nearly as many problems. It is tropical though. If it is in an area where you get freezing weather you are going to have to leave it in a container where you can bring it in. If you are in the warmer areas, well you can plant it in the ground and it is a beautiful plant. I think of hibiscus, I think of the tropics, I think of the islands, I think of Hawaii and you can see why. What a beautiful looking flower and think of those flowers every day. You can simply take them off and if you want them to last a little bit longer put them in the refrigerator, make sure you give them a good fertilizer, about every two months, great plant for you.
